History and information about Violetta

Violetta is a specialist heritage potato variety with an indigo blue skin and blue flesh.

Attractive blue skin and blue flesh variety which came from Germany and was added to UK National list in 2012. It produces long oval tubers and it adds an extra appearance to every dish and has a delicate sweet flavour, a slightly fluffy flesh and works well in savoury dishes. To retain the colour, it’s best to keep the skin on.
