Wendy is a cook, food writer & campaigner for local sustainable produce & biodiversity. Founder Director of award-winning Scottish Food Guide, Scottish Cheese Trail & Scottish Farm Shops, Wendy is also Leader for Slow Food Ark of Taste & Cooks Alliance in Scotland, IGCAT Global Experts Network member, co-founder of Scottish Bread Championship & pioneer of East Ayrshire Council’s school lunch programme. She has co-written “Meadows: The Swedish Farmer & The Scottish Cook,” with her husband, on regenerative food production, available online & from selected farm shops.
We are delighted to have Wendy on board as a guest chef. Wendy is an enthusiastic ambassador for food-related issues, especially rare breeds and varieties.
Working with Wendy we have got some of our heritage varieties of potatoes listed on the Ark of Taste. The Ark of Taste is a key international project of the Slow Food Foundation for Biodiversity. It aims to catalogue and promote quality products from around the world that are rooted in culture, history and tradition and that are in danger of disappearing. We are proud to have these potatoes in our repertoire and are working with the Ark of Taste to have more of our varieties listed.
